The current legislative session began with seven different bills concerning sports betting. Now, there is just one.
According to WABI, the Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee Monday, May 19, wrote most of a bill that would make betting legal in the state.
The committee agreed to give control to the state’s Gambling Control Unit. Also, as part of the measure some revenue would be provided for problem gambling.
Next step is to get a vote on the bill in the full House and Senate.
