It is illegal to text and drive in Maine. We have all seen statistics about how distracted driving has led to thousands of deaths and injuries, every year. Well, now a proposed new bill in Maine could maybe help decrease those numbers.
Possible new legislation in the state would ban you from holding a cell phone and other electronics while driving. According to WGME, the bill has passed committee unanimously, and now faces votes in both the House and Senate.
If passed drivers would need to to use “hands-free” devices, like Bluetooth.
